Propylene glycol is a chemical agent that is miscible with water, ethanol and a variety of organic solvents. Propylene glycol can be used as the raw material of unsaturated polyester resin. It can be used as a wetting agent in combination with glycerin or sorbitol in cosmetics, toothpaste and soap. It is used in hair dye as a moisture conditioner, hair levelling agent, and also as an antifreeze.
