PEG-20 stearate/cetearyl alcohol, chemical formula C18H37OH, white solid crystal, granular or waxy, fragrant. Melting point 48 ~ 50ºC, boiling point 344ºC. Insoluble in water, soluble in ethanol, ether, chloroform and mineral oil. It is sulfonated with concentrated sulfuric acid and has no chemical effect in case of strong alkali. It has the function of inhibiting greasy feeling, reducing the viscosity of wax raw materials, stabilizing cosmetic emulsion and so on.
