Polyacrylamide, also abbreviated as PAM, is a polymer formed from acrylamide subunits that are usually used as a kind of water treatment chemical. Generally, it has high water absorption and forms a soft gel when it is hydrated. It is used in applications such as polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis.
